I think this film deserves a 9/10. Unlike the first one, we get to see a lot of Godzilla, but not to the point where you get tired of him.  I knew this film had to do some heavy lifting with some of the sillier source material.

Dont believe the rotten tomatoes, I think it should be higher and hopefully it does so once the days go by. I rate it 10/10.The visual effects, sound design, soundtrack, acting, cinematography and etc., are all glorious and make the film simply magnificent.

also found it common for them to focus to much on the human characters when it says on the title of the film "Godzilla" implying that the main characters of this film are the monsters and not the humans.

One of the things I love most about this movie is right from the start, it jumps right in. No slow paced beginning it literally starts us off with a Kaiju and from then on it's nothing but the best.

There are very little redeeming qualities to the this movie.

this movie was stale, lacked creativity, and was just down right stupid. I wish I could be more articulate in the next section, but man I'm sooo disappointed.

I'm not too deep in the Godzilla lore but even I could pick up on wink nods of Easter Eggs, and they were cool, I feel like a hardcore Godzilla fan would get every and each one of those.

I don't know how, but use cinema and talent or something. Spielberg could have done it in the 80's. --All monsters had terrible and unforgettable intro scenes.

The characters might feel one dimensional but the way they execute their characters is enough to keep you engaged.

My only concerns however is this movie felt rushed and too many plot twists. In the beginning in the film, eco-terriosts come out of nowhere to take the Orca device and use it for his own intentions and apparently towards the middle of the film it turns out Emma Russel played by Vera Farmiga was the one who contacted them in the first place so I wished that aspect was explored a little bit more. Towards the middle to the film there was a scene which was cut out to the audience which was seeing Washington all in ruin when we didn't get see the whole destruction take place.

As a fan of Godzilla and a fan of the 2014 attempt to bring the franchise to a more realistic domain, KotM was introducing some of the more fantastical kaijus and teetering on the campiness that made the pre-80's-90's films so great for kids, but maybe not a modern audience..

I really love the fact that this movie pays a lot of homage to the classic Godzilla movies such as its soundtrack composed my Bear Mccreary inspired by the late Akira Ifukube, or its throwback characters like Rodan, Mothra, and the space emperor himself King Ghidorah.

I thank all the studios and workers involved in this beautiful film for their hard work and hope they keep going with the Monsterverse while at the same time remembering that fans like myself are really thankful for what they did and provided for us which was this magnificent film.

Honestly I was shocked to find out that this didnt have a strong weekend opening, it definitely deserves to have one. But I feel like as the days pass, more and more people catch on and see it's not a bad film; and right they are. I highly HIGHLY recommend seeing it in IMAX, the experience wont be as powerful if you dont.

I'm very glad this movie is getting good reviews cause you can tell the team behind this movie gave it their all, they weren't halfing it at all and you can clearly tell by how much care and love went into this! I'm hyped still and really hope my review helped to persuade you to see it. It really is my most all time favorite monster movie.

It suspends your disbelief with great cinematography, minimal dialogue/exposition and movie magic, while still being a ridiculous thrill ride that pleases my inner-80's child.
I also wished the character Ishiro Seriwaza played by Ken Wanatabe was explored more before he had to sacrifice himself to save Godzilla.

What I found common among critics who judge this film is they focus too much on the bad aspects of the film which is the story rather than the good aspects like as stated above.

The effects are great and fast, the fight scenes will NOT leave you disappointed or dissatisfied, and the amount of Kaiju's in this movie is insane.  If you feel like seeing the best monster movie and so far best movie of 2019, I do recommend seeing this one.

Not expanding the surreal and supernatural elements that 2014's film kinda hinted at. --All kaiju are just giant animals and we found all those damn pokemon in like 5 years --Mothra was so weak. In past films she was at times as powerful as Godzilla.

Their are many majestic shots in the movie that are eye candy and a pleasure to behold to the audience.  At one point in the film we get introduced to the Oxygen Destroyer which gets used to kill any creature withen its radius but we unfortunately don't get to see how that device was constructed or how it functions see I wished they could have gotten more in debt with it.

You go a little more in backstory of Godzilla and that was a lot fun. Another thing that was awesome was that the heavy foreshadowing of Godzilla vs King Kong. I give this movie a 10/10 I really loved this movie and I am going to see it again! And I recommend you see it too.
